I love the elderly! One of my favorite jobs was working for a nursing home. No task was unimportant. I have a huge heart for our elders and feel empathy for how hard things are for them. Tasks that used to be so simple and visitors that used to come around more, or seemed so, make some of their days a struggle. I believe in letting them do what they can and helping them along the way with what they cannot. And I believe in listening to them, they have much wisdom and we need to listen! I can honestly say that I was an excellent CNA. I cared for my patients as if they were my family member. I have a great deal of experience with dementia patients.

Wilma was amazing with my father. She helped him with his shower, getting dressed, PT, and lunch. She listened to him and his many stories and he truly enjoyed the time they spent together. The days Wilma was on duty we knew we could count on her to be there and looked forward to her visit. Even though she was helping him, she quickly became part of our extended family. He looked forward to her visits.
