About Cynethea

I am licensed in K-6 but I am most comfortable in elementary. I have taught 3rd and 4th grade, tutored 2nd grade, and substitute taught all grade levels. The way the students learn now is not the same way that parents or I were taught as children. I know the curriculum that students are currently being taught with and the way that they are being taught. I have access to current curriculum and other resources to help students learn. I like tutoring because it gives me the space to work one-on-one with students to drive home concepts and skills. One thing you should know about me is that I will go backwards in order to go forward. For example, if I am working with a fourth grade student but that student lacks the foundational skills needed to do the fourth grade work, then I will not essentially waste time, focusing on that fourth grade skill. If I a prior skill needs to be taught in order for the student to be successful on grade level work, I will go backwards in order to go forward.
