About Ellen

Hi there! I've retired from a human services career and now have the opportunity to do something else that gives me a lot of joy! In the past few years I've taken care of just 6 clients, most with some form of dementia. I do this work p/t and with few clients in order to avoid burnout or assembly line care. I'm invested in each person/family, creating personalized and heartfelt care. I strive to do this with respect, without infringing on autonomy or stepping on pride. I value the wisdom and stories elders have to share and find that eager listening can built trust when someone may be hesitant to accept help after a life of independence. It's important to me to be able to offer continuity of care. I am available to provide companionship, support, and advocacy if/when my clients have a hospital stay or move to a care facility. I'm comfortable with pets, vaccinated, a non-smoker, and LGBTQ friendly! Local transportation is included in my fee.
