About Iriss

I am a dedicated language instructor, having taught English and French in the Bronx for the last 7 years in the department of education. Before moving to New York, I lived and taught English as a second language in the Philippines through the US Peace Corps. I also learned two languages from the Philippines, which helped me to understand the difficulties of learning and practicing a new language. During my time learning and teaching in schools, I also coordinated a fun and engaging language after school programs that centered around games and experiential learning activities for various aged students ranging from elementary to high school. Since relocated to New York, I have obtained my graduate degree from Teacher's College Columbia University, passing all state teacher certifications. In 2020, I also received my TESOL certification.
