About Makenna

Hi! I'm a Molecular Biosciences student and part-time Makerspace employee at B. College passionate about creativity, education, and supporting kids in hands-on learning. I volunteer annually as a summer camp counselor and have prior experience working with children through day camps, overnight camps, and many leadership programs through Girl Scouts of Western Washington. In my role at the RISE Makerspace, I support users in 3D printing, laser cutting, sewing, and other fabrication tools. I also founded the Sewing and Textile Arts Club, where I organize workshops and beginner-friendly learning activities that encourage creativity and confidence. I'm especially interested in STEM, sewing, crafting, and hands-on learning experiences tailored to each child's interests. I am trained in First Aid/CPR and will renew my Small Craft Safety certification in June 2026. I primarily use public transit with backup transportation options when needed.
