About Leanna

I am a part-time college writing instructor, and I am looking for care-giving work to round out my flexible schedule. My childcare experience has ranged across many different roles and settings, including as a tutor, babysitter, nanny, summer camp counselor, and daycare instructor. I have training in child development and experience working with children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including recent volunteer experience as a reading tutor with On the Move Community Integration. For the past two years I've also volunteered to read weekly with elementary school children through Start Making a Reader Today (SMART). My goal as a caregiver is to create a safe environment for play, creativity, exploration, and growth. I love working with kids of all ages and getting to know each child as an individual with their own personality and needs. I work especially well with kids who are shy or have behavior issues!
