About Mary

I am the oldest of nine children and was raised by a nanny who taught me to cook. I have been certified in CPR and dietary management. I love teaching young people to cook. My food service management career was spent in Roanoke and Charlottesville, Virginia. I became a single mother when my daughter was age two; she is now married with two daughters at Whitefield Academy. She is a successful lawyer in Atlanta and the reason that I moved to Georgia from Virginia in December 2016. Reading is a particular favorite of mine and I like to foster a love of reading in young children by reading a wide variety of books with them, taking trips to the library and bookstores, and teaching vocabulary and grammar. I am happy to drive for after school pickup and activities. I most recently have been a Supply Teacher for the Emily Lembeck Early Learning Center from 2020 to 2023. I have nannied several children in the Marietta area.
