About Sami

I am a writer in multiple genres. Most of my work is narrative, but I also co-wrote the book School Happens! (for education expert Michele Robinson), and have an in-depth understanding of primary and secondary education, learning styles, and developmental needs. I've taught in various capacities for years--as a coach for Panasonic KidWitness News, as an acting and Shakespeare coach, as a private tutor in English and Creative Writing, as a volunteer teaching library skills, and as a 7th grade drama teacher. But most important, I like hanging out with kids. They're interesting and funny, and I love their creativity. Relevant for some parents: I am adept at strategies for sensory integration deficit, developmental differences, and the "dually exceptional" child's frustrations. I shepherded my son from his days under the table in Pre-k to the moment he got to choose between Brooklyn Tech, Frank Sinatra, and LaGuardia high schools. He just graduated from college and is absolutely thriving!
