About Shawna

My name is Shawna and I have been a professional nanny and household manager for the past 18 years. I have been fortunate to work with many wonderful families in the Southern Maine area providing care for all ages of children from newborn to school aged. I began my work with children where I grew up in Scarborough babysitting for summer families and this led to a very rewarding career as a caregiver. I have a background in Early Childhood Education and am CPR certified as well. I love animals and have pets of my own so I am very comfortable if you do as well! It is my goal in all my positions to provide loving and safe care of children while encouraging play and learning though fun age appropriate activities. I love to be outside whether for a walk or a game of soccer in the yard. I feel it's never to early to introduce books and a love of reading, and I am quite skilled at arts and crafts. I have been known to whip up a paper mache castle on a rainy day. :-) I believe my work to be a very rewarding and important profession, and I would love to bring my skills and experience to a new family!
