About Shay

As the oldest of eight siblings and the oldest granddaughter in a large family, caring for children has been a natural part of my life from an early age. Beyond helping raise and support family members, I have gained extensive professional experience working with children in a variety of settings. For four years, I worked in an after-school program, where I helped create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students. For the past three years, I have served as a Teacher's Assistant, assisting with classroom instruction, student support, and daily learning activities. Additionally, I have worked as a summer camp counselor for the past five years, planning activities, supervising children, and fostering positive relationships with campers and their families. I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, which has strengthened my understanding of child development and effective educational practices.
