About Stephanie

Hello! My name is Stephanie and I'm available for part-time childcare, babysitting and tutoring near Chapel Hill or Carrboro. I have extensive experience with elementary age students, including 6 years working part time as a tutor and with homework help, two years as a volunteer with a 1:1 "big brother/big sister"-style after school program, as well as a summer living and working at an outdoor education camp on a working family farm. I also worked for the public library system for two years, which includes designing and leasing after school activities for kids. I went to a Montessori school for my own elementary school experience, and love following kids' own intrinsic motivation, inspiration and creativity while being a safe form of support and a role model for them. I am CPR-trained including a 3 day wilderness first aid training, and love helping kids enjoy the outdoors safely, as well as explore their creativity.
