I was a certified CNA during high school-which I realize was a long time ago. Although my CNA certification has expired, I have recent personal experience with caregiving. In 2021 my husband broke his hip and did not rehab. He was sent home wheelchair bound. I became his only full-time caregiver until he passed away in April 2022. I operated a hoyer lift, managed his dialysis, supervised medication, assisted him with bathing and dressing, transported him in a wheelchair van to his appointments, and assisted him with wound care.
