We’ll visit the sites of the legendary Fillmore East, the long gone CBGB’s, and The Bottom Line, places that launched the careers of some of the biggest names in music. We’ll also walk to some lesser known, but equally significant, sites where artists honed their craft and first gained a following, places like Club 82, On the Rocks, and Great Gildersleeves. We will visit the U.S. capital on a full tour to Washington, D.C., touring the nation’s most important monuments. We will leave Manhattan with a guide in Spanish, crossing New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland until we reach Virginia. Our first stop will be Arlington National Cemetery, where John F. Kennedy and historical figures rest. Then we will visit the Iwo Jima Memorial and arrive at the National Mall to see the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, the Korea Memorial and the reflective pool next to the Washington Obelisk. We will continue to the Federal Reserve, the OAS, the International Red Cross and the White House at an outside stop. This is an after school film class for Annunciation Day School. Local filmmakers will train the students in camera operations, lighting, film crew management, and producing. Kids will work in teams to develop and produce their own movie, music video, or TV show.
