About Catherine

Since graduating from Washington and Jefferson College with a Child Development and Education major, in addition with a minor in Special Education, I have been able to apply my studies and research directly with those I have tutored and the students in my current class. I aim to incorporate a variety of strategies and modalities for students, in order to ensure the instruction is meaningful to them. I have tutored students ranging from kindergarten, third grade, and eighth grade. Content areas have included: social studies, language arts, science, and mathematics. I have also tutored students with special needs. Differentiating instruction allows me to creatively and effectively meet the academic needs of each student. I also incorporate the students personal interests into sessions in order to ensure the student is engaged. As a tutor , I foster a positive and comfortable learning environment.
