About Jessica

I first fell in love with teaching in 2011, when I began working at an after-school program at a middle school in Providence, RI. During my three years there, I designed and led STEM enrichment activities for sixth to eighth grade students and ran a science fiction writing program. While earning a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Brown University in 2015, I student-taught twelfth grade English at a charter school in Pawtucket, RI. After graduating, I moved to Massachusetts to teach ninth and tenth grade English at a charter school in Plymouth, where I built a grammar curriculum from the ground up and also taught a range of electives, including Media Literacy, Journalism, Multicultural American Literature, and a nonfiction creative writing class. For the past two years, I have taught upper level English at a vocational high school on the South Shore, where I have gained more experience teaching technical and professional writing.
